I've got a quick story to tell...
I was driving in to where we pick up our mail in the countryside the other afternoon with my kids in the car and we quickly noticed things were askew, I mean, it was a crazy scene! An elderly lady was chasing a car around which was driving in circles in reverse. She looked totally defeated and bedraggled and was in no way going to be successful at catching it! I became totally perplexed wondering what sort of a creep would be in the driver's seat continually reversing just out of her reach? After the two revolutions that we witnessed, I finally saw that the only one in the car was a massive dog in the passenger seat. What?!!!! I quickly stopped my car and ran out without saying so much as a word to the woman. I was in full heroine mode! With some effort I caught up to her car, opened the door and jumped in to finally apply the brakes and put it in park! Phew! What a rodeo! We were both on the brink of tears due to the intensity, but decided to embrace three times and laugh our pants off. She was sooo relieved that a youngin' was able to arrest her run away Pathfinder. She confessed that as she jumped out to check the mail she didn't get it all the way in park before she shut the door...and away, or rather around it went! You just never know when your fitness and faith will be put to the test! We easily could have watched that vehicle careen off the road and through the surrounding fences had her wheel not mysteriously stayed turned the entire time or worse, she being eventually run over by her own vehicle. A little shoutout to my guardian angel to whom I am grateful for quickly assisting me in controlling the situation. I am grateful that my health allowed me to be helpful to another. I gave thanks to the Lord for sure! Sometimes life throws us into reverse and things get out of control. We get in a slump, we stop exercising, we eat badly, we are impatient, and so on and so forth. How do we get back on course and start moving forward? I know for myself that it is only though prayer, discipline, determination, and perseverance. Sometimes it takes a heroic effort to get out the door, to put a healthy meal on the table, to love my family first before thinking of myself. If we just sit on the sideline and observe and do nothing then nothing will change and we'll just keep going in circles. What are you doing to be in better shape, better health, more focused and prayerful? Take some time in prayer and seriously ask this question...because you, the unique YOU, is needed today. You can't afford to wait. You and I do not know when we'll be tested. I believe in you! Believe also in yourself. By His grace, change is POSSIBLE. The God of the Impossible can work with whatever hurdles are on your track today. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13 Let it be in your heart and on your lips.
