Oh, those summer days with the clean house windows wide open and the sweet breeze moving gently through while the kids play busily outside for hours and you get some space to do your thing…whatever thing, but YOUR thing. Has the last month seen you loose steam on reading, writing, making, exercising, adventuring and connecting with others? Right now, I feel the death of that summer space which rang louder with freedom. Now it’s all hands to the plow at all hours to get kids moved through a school day, chores done, house tidied, people fed, farm serviced, events attended, and more. It’s like we have half as much time and twice as much to do! I know this isn’t unique to my household either. It’s the craziness of flipping routines around, but someones gotta do it. Fair enough, some of these things naturally die off in this transition of priorities like getting to go to the lake nearly every day to take a dip, or having friends over for so many hours of delicious playtime, but as much as some things changes, other things have to remain the same. I’m talking to you mom. Straight to you. Are you taking care of yourself the way you ought to? Are you getting in your “me minutes?” There is something incorrectly conceived in the mind of women that it is selfish to make time for themselves, but those are the mom’s I have the pleasure of chatting with to help rearrange their thinking and priorities. It’s actually very selfish of a woman, especially a mother to not take care of herself. She cannot possibly do that if she won’t stop taking care of everyone else for a minute. Ladies, stop right there if a gym membership, a baby sitter and a perfect body just popped into your head. That’s not it…exactly. I’m talking about things as simple as finding a place on the floor to stretch daily and read from the Word of God, that morning coffee enjoyed on the porch swing alone, the shower behind the securely locked door or the evening run as the dinner cooks away and the sun gently sets. It’s time for you to get your “me minutes” in isn’t it? You need it and your family needs you to…unless you like parenting from a place of illness, frustration and resentment :/ Today isn’t just another day, it’s a precious gift waiting for you to unwrap it and get excited. It’s the present after all! Today you can finally stop saying, “one day” and get the tools to say, “DAY ONE!” I’m not here to push you past your point of breaking, loosing and failure. I’m here to mentor you into motion and to help you find your forward in such a sustainable and graceful way. Book a call with me today and let’s chat your personal plan for how to make this finally happen. Let’s do this! It’s your health, your happiness, and your holiness on the line.
