You Aren’t Just a Mom.You aren't just a mom.
You're a Catholic mom with a family and a mission! Here's why that distinction matters: Maybe you thought married life was a promised land, your vocation, your purpose and God’s will for your life; a blissful state, wherein once married, you'd collapse into the arms of an all-loving, all-sustaining man, carried along in the heaven of procreation and child-bearing... That once you entered the paradise of marriage and family life, the need for seeking and striving and straining and proving would at last be behind you... That you could slip gracefully into the rest and reprieve of being a "family." As you now know, that is a lie. Not completely though. After all, the fruits of family life are the building blocks of society. The "family is not the problem, it's the culture that has robbed you of your full potential within your family. Hopefully, you still have the flame, even if it’s just a flicker. Family life demands MORE sacrifice and strength, not less. It demands fitness of both body and soul. It demands all the grace available to you through the sacraments. Anyone who calls married life an “easy life” has never entered into it. In fact, when you get married you are laying your life on the line for another, that being your spouse and your children. When you marry, you don't "settle down." You settle in, for the long haul: it's where you sweat, bleed, teach and scold, love and laugh, trying to become holy in the midst of everyday world-weaving, with your creations in tow. In short, family life isn't some mountain to be conquered, race to be won; some suspended state; some hall-pass that lets you opt out of the agonies and ecstasies of the motherly life. As a Catholic mom, you are called to the high road. To pick up your cross… and RUN with it! It's a fitting and beautiful burden; a mantle; a forcing-function of the highest order that draws more vision and power and brilliance and greatness than any unattached life ever could. Get that fundamental mindset wrong, and married life will feel like a constant catastrophe, the supposed fruits of family life perpetually evading you. Again: you aren't just a mom. You aren’t some separate, cloistered category of woman. No, your vocation is wife and mother! So quit the myth of the well-adjusted, happily-sequestered mom. Drop all pretense of arrival. You're just getting started. Heed finally, your own importance within your family. They are counting on you! Resurrect your long-lost mom strength. Yes, you have it and it probably needs some coaching to bring it back! So, put a new plan in place to become once again that fit Catholic mom with clarity, action and vigor in her step. No more excuses. Today! Right now! It’s time! Because if you don’t, the consequences are dire. I’m here to help you if you've tried before and fallen, if you are unsure of the path forward, if you are feeling broken and burdened with life, then it’s time for some help. Happy Easter, Blessed Pascha!
In continuity with what I wrote on Holy Thursday, let’s discuss the joy of being a fit Catholic mom. Proverbs 31 helps set the tone for how moms should go about their lives in a conscientious stewardship of body and soul and yet… I see the struggle and feel the mud that moms are experiencing in today’s crazy, secular and fast pace life. I know, it’s not easy! That’s why I started Fit Catholic Mom, to help give you hope and show you a different way to live out your vocation as wife and mother in your best possible health. Here we go…I am going to provide three ways that a fit catholic mom can start to implement transformation in her life. The moms that I've seen experience incredible turnarounds in their lives have had the brilliance to focus on 3 things: 1) Making time for their growth 2) Finding balance in their faith and fitness 3) Making this bigger than just about themselves When you have all 3, you've got it! The time you need. The commitment and conviction that makes it happen and the satisfaction that comes from sharing the new life that you’re experiencing…because now you’re not just focused on yourself but you are helping to make your very own confident contribution to the world. That's what it's about…His peace and your purpose. But these 3 things aren't free. They don't happen by accident, rather when many parts of your life - morning routine, prayer life, making meals and many others align and work in concert…as directed by you. It’s something that everyone is chasing and not many seem to find. Over the years here at Fit Catholic Mom, I’ve guided many clients to all 3 of these important things. The backbone to this kind of transformation is having a step-by-step strategy to follow, abundant support, accountability and coaching which understands what today’s faithful Catholic moms are experiencing. If you’ve been through other programs, you know that they don’t have a fraction of this. If you feel that you don’t have this in your life, don’t worry. None of my clients did either. I showed them how and I look forward to helping you reset your life. Take a hard look at where you’re at. Be honest. Right now, do you have the time you want? Do you have the joy and freedom that comes from working out and remaining fit in a way that magnifies your faith? Are you making a big enough contribution to your family and the world? If the answer is no, it means that your joy is broken. But if you do have them, happiness and holiness come almost automatically. Wouldn't now be a good time to fix it? In his grip, Rebecca Dussault P.S. The best, most-transforming change you can possibly make this year is to work with me. Book a call here. P.P.S.
